Abstract
Collection, establishment and evaluation of
provenances/origins from phytogeographically corresponding regions
(primarily cool oceanic forest zones of the Southern Hemisphere and
Alaska). Screening of plant material for application in horticulture,
shelterbelts and forestry. A comprehensive collection of plant
material originating from a joint Nordic expedition to Chile and
Tierra del Fuego 1992 is being prepared for planting. Various species
of Rhododendron from wild populations, in particular South East Asia,
are being selected for planting in the arboretum in Torshavn.

Abstract
Formålet er at opbygge en artssamling af Rhododendron som
kan supplere Arboretets samling og inddrages i Arboretets forskning
indenfor slægten Rhododendron. The aim is to establish a species
collection of Rhododendron, which can be a supplement to the
collection at the Hørsholm Arboretum and which can serve as a basis
for research in the genus.

Abstract
Formålet er at opbygge en samling med en så komplet
repræsentation som muligt indenfor slægten Rhododendron. Samlingen
skal danne grundlag for genetiske, taxonomiske og
udviklingshistoriske studier indenfor slægten og for selektion af
materiale til dyrkning i danske haver. The aim is to establish a
representative collection of Rhododendron species, which can be used
for research in taxonomy, genetics and evolution of the genus
Rhododendron, and particularly the subsections Taliensia,
Rhododendron and Caroliniana.
