§2. The purpose of the association is to spread interest in growing Rhododendrons in Denmark
The Rhododendron Association is an association under the American Rhododendron Society. Our association's purpose is to help members gain a better knowledge of growing rhododendrons.
The members here share their knowledge and experience in the area for the cultivation, propagation, pruning and hybridization of rhododendrons and azaleas.
The membership is not only intended to learn about the rhododendron family, but also to create a cozy atmosphere and to share this joy with other garden owners.
At the meetings, members can, among other things, listen to lectures on the arrangement of gardens, plants, expeditions from near and far, in order to illustrate the beauty and variety within the genus Rhododendron.
Lecturers who specialize in the field are often invited.
Members have the opportunity to acquire plants at the meetings, partly through auctions, the American lottery or buy plants cheaply at specially organized plant sales twice a year.
Open gardens are organized to provide inspiration and social interaction. You can also often buy plants here.
Intensive courses in propagation and plant teaching are sometimes held.
Members receive our membership magazine "RhodoNyt" 4 times a year.
It is also possible to borrow books, magazines, photocopies, video tapes, audio tapes and slides.
Twice a year we have an activity day in our Rhododendron park, where we have a collection of wild species and many hybrids.
Meeting place: Øst: Smørum Library, Flodvej 68 2765 Smørum. West: Elbæk Afterschool (Only for members)
The time is usually at 19:00 in the evening or at 10 or 11 on weekends.
In the evening: A Thursday in September or October, November, January, February or March.
