As founder and owner of Greer Gardens in Eugene, Oregon, Harold E. Greer took a boyhood interest in rhododendrons and became a professional hybridizer and
nurseryman. Greer hybrids, award winners and standards of the industry, are found in collections and gardens around the world. The world-wide mail order nursery which he established now offers over 750 different rhododendrons and over ,000 listings of rare and unusual plants. True to his penchant for turning hobbies into lifelong careers. Mr. Greer is also a highly regarded photographer with work appearing in many major publications. He as written books and articles, and been a contributor to the artistic and scholarly work published by others. Awarded a Gold Medal by The American Rhododendron Society for contribution to the genus  Rhododendron, r. Greer continues to further our knowledge and appreciation of rhododendrons with the publication of this book.
