B0240 – The Genus Meconopsis-Blue poppies and their relatives

Meconopsis is one of the most distinctive and beautiful members of the poppy family, the Papaveraceae. Distributed across the SinoHimalaya region from Pakistan to India, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, Tibet and western China, many species have a great horticultural as well as botanical appeal, yet there has been no single major work on this plant group since George Taylor’s 1934 monograph.

This new and complete revision of Meconopsis takes into account all the work published in the intervening 80 years, coupled with field observations by the author and other renowned experts. The book is extensively illustrated with color photographs of these beautiful and striking plants taken in the wild, showing the inherent variability seen in some species. Detailed species descriptions include habitat and variation within the genus, with distribution illustrated in 28 maps.
