Denne bog er udgivet af Ministry of Forest – Department of Medicinal Plants i 1976. Med hensyn til rhododendron er følgende nævnt: anthopogon, arboreum,barbatum, campanulatum, cowanianum, lepidotum of setosum.

Economic development through the utilzation of naturel resources and their management demand a sound knowledge on nature itself. In a country like Nepal one cannot think of nature without the cover of vegetation on its landmasses, , which with its contents is not only a store of various materials that sustain livehood of mankind but also a source of information on other factors of nature such as climate, altitude, exposure, topography, soil and so on. Therefore the pursuit of knowledge on vegetation and flora of Nepal is also to be viewed from an angle of unfolding the secrets of nature in our enviorment.

The present work on the flora of Langtang and Gosaikunda area and on the vegetation of central Nepal is therefore a ground work that can direcly contribute to other aspects of allied fields such as forestry, agriculture, horticulture, agronomy, pasture developments, etc. This work is just a starting point which can lead to a thorough investigation of facts on naturel resources for further development. More facts and materials will be published as and when they are ready.
