Their origins, cultivation and development. 1. edition 1936 and this 2. edition 1960.

The book was originally produced a quater-century ago. The fact that is has endured for so long, with increasing demand for its republication, is very gratifying to the author. In the intervening years great changes have been wrought in the extent to which members of the genus Rhododendron have become used and understood. The tremendous expansion of rhododendron culture on the American West Coast from comparatively obscure status twenty-five years ago to one of dominance in 1960 is an example in point. Others changes have included such matters as increased activity of hybridists both here and abroad, as well as fundamentally better knowledge of the different sorts and their suitability for special purposes. Equally important is our never knowledge of propagating techniques, physiological and ecological factors, soil and water relations, and several other vital phenomena.

Bogen indeholder mange understregninger og små kommentarer i margen som Johannes Hedegaard har foretaget.
