Beskrivelse

R. pocophorum var. pocophorum aff./ var. hemigymnum (Neriiflora). Opret voksende (op til 1,5 m) og kompakt stedsegrøn busk med kirtelhåret grene. De aflange blade har et tæt tyndt brunt indument på bladundersiden, skinnende og mørkegrøn på bladoverfladen. Bladstilk flad og lidt vinget. Den kødede rødlige blomster er smalt klokkeformet i en tæt rund blomsterstand (med op til 20 blomster). Stor calyx. Blomstrer tidligt (marts/apr.) og derfor fryses blomsterne ofte. Bedst på et køligt lyst voksested. Bør overvintre i koldhus. Vildtvoksende i Burma/Myanmar (BE = Bent Ernebjerg). Ikke en hybrid da den avler rent

Rhododendron ×hemigymnum (Tagg & Forrest) D. F. Chamberlain (Notes Roy. Bot. Gard. Edinburgh 37: 333. 1979 [“hemigynum”]; R. chaetomallum I. B. Balfour & Forrest var. hemigymnum Tagg & Forrest, Notes Roy. Bot. Gard. Edinburgh 16: 189. 1931), described from Xizang, is a hybrid between R. pocophorum and R. eclecteum. It is intermediate between the two putative parents, with the broad petiole, leaf blade shape, and setose to stipitate-glandular young shoots and petioles of R. eclecteum, but with a leaf indumentum more typical of R. pocophorum. Both parents occur at the localities from which this entity has been recorded.
