R. x detonsum er en naturhybrid mellem R. adenogynum og evt. R. vernicosum? Lavtvoksende, grov, storblomstret plante med 5-(7) lober, lyserøde.
Ingen eller kun lidt indument på bladene. Calyx lober uens længde, 3-5mm. Vildtvoksende i Yunnan ved 3000-3400m. Sjælden i kultur.
