R. hookeri (Thomsonia) Opret voksende busk op til 7 m med glatte grå eller kastaniefarvet bark.
Nyskud glatte. Bladene glatte mørkegrøne med tutter af hår på bladundersidernes nerver. Blomsterne som kommer frem i
april-maj er lyse kirsebærrød til dyb Crimson eller rødlig til ametyst-lilla med mørkere nektarier. Vildtvoksende i
Bhutan og Arunachal Pradesh, Indien i blandede skove fra 2.700 til 4.000 m. Ikke hårdfør, men kan overleve en tid på meget beskyttet plads.
